Tickets for a visit to Giza come from separate sellers. The plateau with the pyramids and the Sphinx is sold through Experience Egypt, the ticket portal of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The pyramid interiors are an extra on top. The Grand Egyptian Museum, a short drive north of the plateau, runs its own shop with timed tickets. All prices are in Egyptian pounds. Amounts change, so each figure below carries the date on which we read it on the official portals, 2 November 2026, and a pointer to the office that sells the ticket.
The Giza plateau
As of November 2026 the official portal at egymonuments.com lists general admission to the plateau at EGP 700 for adults and EGP 350 for students who are not Egyptian. Student rates need a valid student card, and the holder must be 24 or younger. Children under 6 enter free. Taking photos with a mobile phone costs nothing extra.
The portal gives the same hours for summer and winter: the gates open at 7 am, and the last visitors are admitted at 4 pm. During Ramadan the plateau opens at 8 am with last entry at 3:30 pm. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February, according to astronomical projections; the date is fixed only once the new moon is sighted. The portal names the last entry, not a closing time, so plan your visit around 4 pm. It also asks you to keep your ticket with you for the whole visit.
The new entrance and the ticket machines
Since April 2025 the main gate has been on the Cairo–Fayoum road, south of the pyramids. The old entrance by the Mena House was closed. Ahram Weekly reported two self-service ticket machines at the new gate when it opened, and private cars are no longer allowed onto the site; electric buses run from the visitor centre to the stops on the plateau. More on that is on the getting around page.
Tour operators that leave guests to buy their own tickets at the gate say that payment there is by card and that cash is not accepted. A review from October 2026 describes the main gate closed without notice and visitors sent to the second entrance near the Sphinx, about 2.8 km away. If you come on your own, carry a card and allow some slack in the morning.
Inside the pyramids
General admission does not include any interior. On its booking page the official portal sells the Great Pyramid of Khufu as an extra at EGP 1,500 for adults and EGP 750 for students, and the Pyramid of Khafre at EGP 280 and EGP 140, as of November 2026. Two smaller extras appear on the same page: the Mars Ankh Tomb at EGP 200 and the Labor Tombs, the workers' cemetery, at EGP 700, sold only in batches of at least five tickets. The Pyramid of Menkaure is not among the extras. Interiors can also close for a time: in May 2023 the ministry shut the Great Pyramid for maintenance and said it would reopen within a month, while the other two stayed open. Book an interior visit with that in mind and do not plan a trip around it alone.

If the interior matters to you, a guided tour with the ticket already included takes the queue at the gate out of your hands, and at EGP 1,500 the Khufu ticket is the largest single entry fee at Giza. Many of the other tours on this site list the Khufu interior as an extra rather than part of the package.
Panorama Point and the Sphinx
Guided walks on the plateau usually stop at a viewpoint that the tour pages call Panorama Point, then finish at the Sphinx. The official ticket page does not list either as a separate ticket. One guided walk on this page meets you at the ticketing area, so you do not need a transfer to start it. The guided walk includes the plateau ticket in some options; read the option you choose before you book.
Grand Egyptian Museum
The museum sells tickets through tickets.gem.eg, which describes itself as the only official website for its tickets. As of November 2026 the shop gives these hours. On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the complex is open from 8:30 am to 7 pm and the galleries from 9 am to 6 pm. On Wednesday and Saturday the complex stays open until 10 pm and the galleries until 9 pm. Last entry is one hour before the galleries close.
Each ticket is valid for one date and one time slot, allows a single entry, and cannot be transferred. The shop says tickets are non-refundable once bought, except in cases of force majeure. Prices appear only during the booking process, by visitor category. Reviews from late 2025 describe entrance staff refusing tickets bought through a reseller, so keep the booking confirmation on your phone and arrive early in your slot. According to the shop, admission covers the Tutankhamun galleries, the main galleries, the Grand Hall, the Grand Stairs and the Khufu's Boats Museum.
Saqqara and Dahshur
South of Giza, the ministry's Saqqara page lists the site ticket at EGP 600 for adults and EGP 300 for students, and an inclusive ticket for the site, the Imhotep Museum and several tombs at EGP 1,400 and EGP 700; that page gives no date for its prices. Vehicles pay a small parking fee on top. The official ticket portal confirms the site ticket at EGP 600 and EGP 300 and gives 8 am, with last entry at 4 pm in summer and winter. Dahshur, with the Bent and Red Pyramids, costs EGP 200 for adults and EGP 100 for students, and Memphis the same. Both open at 8 am, with last entry at 4 pm. Tours to both sites are on the Saqqara and Dahshur tours page.
Which ticket to buy first
Most visitors need the plateau ticket and, on a second visit or the same afternoon, a museum slot. The museum slot is the one to book early, because it is tied to a time. For the plateau, the main decision is how you get in. Buying at the gate with a card works; a QR ticket or a guided tour that includes admission spares you the ticket hall. If you plan to go in the morning, the best time to visit page shows how the opening hours line up with sunrise and the midday heat.
All tours side by side
Tickets and guided visits that settle the entry question in advance: a QR ticket for the plateau, a museum ticket, a private tour with the Khufu interior already paid and a guided walk that starts at the ticket gate.
